LEGISLATIVE AGENDA |
|
The Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce’s Local Government Affairs Council (LGAC) is empowered by the Board of Directors to set the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda. The first step in the process is to appoint a Legislative Sub-committee composed of LGAC appointees, board members, the President & CEO, and the Director of Business Advocacy.
The Legislative Sub-committee is tasked to review submitted state legislation and determine which bills are of interest to our members. Through a series of meetings, the Legislative Sub-committee reviews legislation and recommends Chamber positions to be considered by the full membership of LGAC.
Once the Legislative Agenda is approved by the voting members of LGAC, the Business Advocacy arm of the Chamber is permitted to take public positions on legislation and lobby for and against legislation based on the needs of the local business community.
