celebration of business
Join us at the Graduate Eugene for the 68th Annual Celebration of Business, where we’ll honor this year’s First Citizen, Sue Prichard, and announce this year's Future First Citizen! This year our Celebration of Business is truly a cause for celebration. We’ve seen remarkable community building that has made us prouder than ever to do what we do–working collectively as business leaders to solve the challenges facing our community. We live here. We work here. We celebrate here.
special report
The Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce has tracked the efforts to manage our homeless crisis and engaged in conversations to identify resources over the past few years; however, there has been no collective effort for the private business community to formally engage in this issue at a community-wide level. As a result, we set out to better understand the complexity of this crisis in order to identify existing barriers so we could recommend improvements. We do not claim to be experts, but we have spoken to the experts and their insights are included in this report.
A comprehensive summary of our research, this report is intended to document the current state of the homeless crisis in our community. It highlights a collection of successful endeavors worthy of recognition, along with recommendations for additional actions. The solutions—plural intended—cannot be reduced to a simple “golden ticket.” We believe there is a light at the end of this tunnel, and we hope to inspire community partners to unite to end homelessness in our community.
