2025 Special Election Guide
With direction from the Chamber’s Board of Directors and strong support from our members, we have continued a consistent and thoughtful process to engage with candidates in local, non-partisan races. For the May 2025 Special Election, the Chamber Board has issued endorsements for qualified candidates aligned with key business and community priorities, as identified through our latest member survey.
This year’s guide includes races for the 4J School Board, Bethel School Board, and Lane Community College Board of Education. Every candidate running was invited to participate in the evaluation process, which included candidate questionnaires, interviews, scoring, and review by our Candidate Review Committee.
Special elections often have lower voter turnout but critical impacts on local leadership.

The Eugene Chamber and Onward Eugene are excited to launch Elevate 2028, a new five-year regional economic and community development initiative.
Our region is fortunate to have a number of strong economic sectors, such as technology, bio science, food and beverage,
wood products, healthcare, tourism, sports and recreation, and higher education. And yet, when it comes to driving economic growth and prosperity, we lack concerted intentionality, meaningful progress, and results. Hundreds of business and community members were consulted in the creation of Elevate 2028 and agree that there is a need to take proactive action to grow the economy now.
Elevate 2028 is designed to tackle pressing issues such as a challenging business climate, talent retention, inadequate housing, childcare shortages, and homelessness. It aims to transform the region into a beacon of opportunity and innovation, fostering an environment where businesses can grow and thrive.
