​Since 1986 the Eugene and Springfield Chambers of Commerce have partnered to grow the next generation of civic leaders through Leadership Eugene-Springfield (LES)—a dynamic program designed to deepen community knowledge, sharpen leadership skills, and ignite long-term engagement with passionate leaders.
Through this collaborative initiative, we develop leaders who:

• Advocate for and represent the community as whole
• Value the role of government, business, and nonprofits in creating a vibrant local economy
• Actively shaping a positive future for Eugene-Springfield

THE PROGRAM

Leadership Eugene-Springfield is more than a leadership course—it’s a year-long journey into the heart of our region. Through immersive, day-long sessions each month, participants:

• Explore critical challenges and innovations in Eugene and Springfield
• Build practical leadership skills for personal and professional impact
• ​Form lasting connections with peers, community leaders, and changemakers

Core program elements include:

• Regional Economic Development & Land Use
• Public Safety, Health & Human Services
• Education & Government Leaders
• Arts, Culture, and Community Orientation
• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
• Personal Leadership Styles & Communication
• Advocacy, Influencing Policy, and Media Relations
• Conflict Resolution, Negotiation & Team Building
• Facilitation and Speaking/Presenting

APPLICATION & TUITION​

2025 Tuition for Leadership Eugene-Springfield is $975 and covers all program costs, meals and materials. The candidate's employer, a sponsor, or the candidate may pay tuition. Scholarship assistance may be available to individuals who otherwise would be unable to participate. Indicate that need by checking the box on the application form. The program begins in October and ends with graduation in May, applicant's employer must be a member of either Chamber of Commerce to apply.

Interested in joining the 39th cohort of Leadership Eugene Springfield? Join a network of leaders creating real change in Eugene-Springfield. Applications are open through July 31st. Interviews begin mid-August, and selection announcements will be made early September.
