COMMUNITY PLAN
As indicated in The State of Our Homelessness Crisis Report, our homeless crisis is too large for any one entity to solve alone, and the burden for years has fallen to government, nonprofits and the faith community.
We need to convene leaders across sectors – to convene as equals and determine how we can do things differently – to have a shared goal, aligned priorities, clear roles & responsibilities, and a commitment to work together.
In addition to the Business Leaders Task Force members, we have talked with nonprofit organizations, churches, neighborhood associations, academia, philanthropic & health organizations, unhoused and housed individuals to gain buy-in for a collective/shared regional plan. We have researched and met with other communities around the nation to understand best practices. And, we are in conversation with our partners at Lane County, the City of Eugene, the City of Springfield and elected officials from Eugene & Springfield to determine next steps.
