Since 1954, KVAL has been western Oregon’s most trusted source for News, Information and Entertainment. Our award-winning News Team produces five hours of local, live newscasts every weekday, providing our area with the latest news, weather and sports from across the Willamette Valley and western Oregon. KVAL is also the home for CBS; America’s most watched network, featuring hit shows including Young Sheldon, Survivor, NCIS and Big Brother.
In addition to quality news and programming, KVAL has a long history of support for the community as well as local organizations. KVAL is especially proud of its involvement with Food for Lane County. Through its “Can Do” and “Take a Bite Out of Hunger” food drives KVAL has collected enough food and cash donations to feed over 200,000 people in our area. The success of those drives led KVAL to expand into Roseburg and Coos Bay where this Fall, “Take a Bite” raised a combined $15,000 and collected 15,500 pounds of food. KVAL was also instrumental in the fundraising for the new facility at Greenhill Humane Society. Since 2015, the annual “KVAL Tail-a-thon” has raised nearly $200,000 and has helped Greenhill in their efforts to improve the lives of lost, abandoned and neglected animals in our community. The crowning achievement for KVAL is its work with the American Cancer Society where this years “Relay for Life” event raised over $475,000, making it the number one Relay for Life in the US.
Throughout its history, KVAL has proudly served its communities with quality programming, technological innovation and community involvement. It’s that commitment to excellence that’s made KVAL western Oregon’s leader for nearly 70 years.
