Chamber Board Establishes Goals for 2009

Through the vision and leadership of its volunteer board of directors, the Chamber regularly plans for the future and how the organization can best carry out its mission of promoting a healthy local economy. Using the Chamber’s Vision 2020, the Chamber long range strategic plan, as a foundation the Board met in October to establish its goals for 2009. Among the priorities for the organization are:

  • Collaborating with local partners to create a proactive regional economic development effort with an emphasis on industry cluster development.

  • Continue to advocate for the development of a comprehensive regional strategy for sustainable economic prosperity.

  • Advocate for a responsible solution to address the shortage of commercial and industrial lands in Eugene and Springfield.

In this environment of economic uncertainty the Chamber is more committed than ever to being a collaborative leader, working with other groups in the community for economic development that fits for our region and to create good atmosphere for businesses success.
